Welcome to the October 2007 edition of The Carnival of Nourishers.
Tiffany Washko presents posted at Natural Family Living Blog. A great post. Thanks Tiffany. It’s great to be able to leave a child with a cup and know they won’t break it when they throw it but also to avoid putting fertility damaging, cancer causing plastics in their bodies.
Karen Halls presents 12 Signs And Symptoms Of An Addictive Relationship posted at Addiction Recovery Blog, saying, “An addictive relationship is usually evident to outsiders, but when you are in the middle of it, seeing the situation can be difficult.” I still dream about the guy I had my first relationship with. He was very bad for me and I was so-o-o-o attracted to him. Luckily I chose a much more Nourishing relationship eventually. I doesn’t stop my dreams from tempting me back though.
karen alonge presents relationship life preservers posted at postcards from nowhere. Bravo Karen, the advice you give in this post is superb.
Food Glorious Food.
Sohail presents Sugar Beverages: Drinks of Mass Destruction? posted at The HealthBlogger, saying, “Sugar Beverages: Drinks of Mass Destruction?” Her advice for giving up sweet drinks backs up my experience with overcoming my addiction for refined sugar.
Doris Chua presents Papaya - A Wonderful Digestive Aid posted at Doris Chua: Organics & Your Health. This is the first time I’ve heard of Papaya Tea. I’m drinking lots of Papaya Smoothies right now for my milk fast.
Vanalli presents How what you eat can help you live longer | posted at Nick, saying, “Eat well, live longer.” This post is well rounded but needs more research on the Cholesterol Issue. Go to Chris MasterJohns site to find out why cholesterol is innocent of all charges.
Green Living
Rodney Burge - Marketing Strategies presents Hurricanes Can Have Positive Results posted at Corbett Kroehler - Global Warming, saying, “Even as the region affected by hurricanes takes small, painful steps toward recovery, we must remember some of the lessons which that disaster taught us. In his blog at http://www.keyboard-culture-global-warming.com, global warming and green building expert Corbett Kroehler writes about and shows a picture of a next-generation, hurricane-proof home with so much environmental sensitivity it is called the American Standard Green Envirohome.” Good on you Rodney. Now for the Garden…
Natural Health
Carole Fogarty presents Comfort and its truthful offerings: posted at THE HEALTHY LIVING LOUNGE, saying, “I have recently fallen in love with the word COMFORT.” Carole’s post is certainly what I’d call Nourishing. I feel the same as she when I do yoga or something equally as Nourishing. It seems to me infinite comfort is a matter of not “minding” what’s happening and simply choosing Nourishment at every turn.
Dianne M. Buxton presents Antioxidant Ingredients In Health Drinks posted at Baby Boomers and Menopause, saying, “Replacing our culture’s favorite drink - the soda - with something healthy. Essential for kids and babyboomers alike. Focus on calcium and phosphorus balance - healthy bones.” Dianne recommends Noni Juice instead. I agree. Raw Milk, Kombucha, Beet Kvass and Rejuvelacare other cheaper alternatives.
Tristan presents How to Power Nap for Optimal Productivity posted at The Synergy Institute, saying, “In this article, Life Coach Tristan Loo, explains how to use a short 20-minute power nap to maximize personal effectiveness, increase productivity, reduce stress, while promoting good health and vitality.” I cured my need to nap after ridding my diet of refined grains and concentrating on nutrient dense animal foods, then I detoxed mercury and found a significant difference. Now I a super hero, as you all know.
Julie Heath - More4kids Inc. presents What are the Benefits of Breastfeeding? posted at Baby Development and Breastfeeding Resources. Couldn’t agree with you more Julie. Breastfeeding is great for baby and mum.
Nutrition
Wenchypoo presents Your Blood is Boiling Over posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket. This post is about the terminally confusing concept of blood acid/alkaline balance. Check out what Sally Fallon has to say about it here.
John Hill presents The Ideal Diet posted at Universe Of Success. John’s travels to Asia learned him a thing or two about diets. Be aware however, that Asian people have a pancreas 50% larger than ours. They are genetically predisposed to consuming large amounts of carbohydrates and fibre. We are not. See Dr. Edward Howell’s book Enzyme Nutrition for the scientific studies proving this. I do agree that Asian food traditions ensure small amounts of nutrient dense food gets eaten at every meal. If you don’t want to eat insects or strange seafood, go for organic, grass fed raw milk, butter, cream, organ meats, cod liver oil.
Dan Buglio presents Eat Your Allergies Away posted at Indoor Air Quality Tips, saying, “Here’s a post about how subtle changes in diet can help improve allergies/asthma symptoms. Safe for all ages, and helpful to everyone who suffers from allgeries or allergic asthma or other respiratory diseases that cause lung inflammation.” I do not agree that Canola Oil is a good source for Omega 3. Best to stick with traditional fats and pasture fed animal foods. Also did you know about the healing qualities of real raw milk?
Petra Ioni presents Red Wine as an Anitoxidant Decreases Oxidative Stress, Study Says posted at Medopdedia. Try to find Organic red wine that is not pasteurized and is preservative free.
TherapyDoc presents Mr. Satuday Night posted at Everyone Needs Therapy. I loved this post.
Spiritual Nourishment
Charles H. Green presents An Honest Wedding posted at Trust Matters, saying, “I went to an unusual wedding where the fact that the minister acknowledged that cancer was the extra guest actually put people more at ease.”
Todd Goldfarb presents 7 Easy Ways to Integrate Feng Shui into Your Life posted at We The Change, saying, “Hi there– Feng Shui can be very nourishing; here’s a great article about the practice…” Getting Rid of Clutter, his first point is indeed Nourishing.

Thanks for including me. I guess emotional nourishment counts for something, right?
